Your shoulders are near your ears right now…jaw tight.. breath shallow and living somewhere near the top of your chest.. a body still bracing for the next email, the next ask.

You don't remember when it started. The bracing. The rush just became the body's default setting.

Araam means to rest. The rest your body knew before it learned to brace... the rest that is still waiting for you to come back to.. to remember.

I (Joy) know this bracing personally. My own body stopped listening to me in 2019 - complete burnout, lost my eye sight for 42 days and then a pandemic that locked me down in the Himalayas. I became good friends with the monks, mountains, and the very unglamorous work of learning how to sit still without flinching. What I found underneath the stillness wasn't relaxation.. it was something quieter and older. It was safety in the body.

We built Araam with this intention of safety.. room by breath by ritual, to whisper to your nervous system: you can put it down here..and  no one is going to ask you to pick it back up.

The philosophy we created for Araam is Somatic Hospitality™...the relaxing lights in the room..the slow cooked meals.. no rush to eat.. the weighted blankets on your bed…the sounds of nature all around you. The quiet that no one rushes to fill because they trust it. You won't have to try to relax here. The space already knows how too.

This is your gentle invitation to extend the same compassion you extend to others.. and give yourself the gift of rest.

Rest is not something you earn. it is something you return to.

We welcome you to come rest with Araam..

With Love from the Himalayas,
Joy & Vinod
